Cinenym is a daily acrostic movie game. Each day gives you a word, and every letter is a slot in your movie list. Fill each slot with a movie whose title starts with that letter to spell out the whole word.

The cards below the movie list are optional bonuses. Matching a bonus's criteria with your movie choices earns its star (★). They're not required to finish a puzzle — they're just for bragging rights.

Yes. Your movie choices for each day are stored in your browser, so a refresh won't lose your progress. Because it's stored locally, progress doesn't carry across different devices or browsers.

Yes. Open the menu and choose History to review or continue any previous day. Each entry links straight back to that day's puzzle.

Technically, yes — if you find a way to access a future day before it's officially released. But future days are still subject to change as the project develops, so there's no guarantee its word or star bonuses will be the same once the day actually releases. Once released, a day's word and bonuses are locked in and shouldn't change again.

No. Cinenym is intended to remain free, without ads, subscriptions, paid features, or the sale of personal data.

No. Cinenym doesn't require an account, and it doesn't ask for or collect any personal information about you.

Your puzzle progress and display preferences are saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. This data never leaves your browser, and clearing your browser data will remove it.

Cinenym doesn't set tracking cookies. We use GoatCounter to see aggregate visit counts, which is cookie-free and doesn't track you across sites or store any personal data.

Movie metadata and artwork come from The Movie Database (TMDB). Cinenym uses a pre-generated snapshot and does not send your searches to TMDB.

No. Movie search uses static files served with Cinenym. Poster images are loaded from TMDB's image service when available.
